The Broking Group Limited is committed to protecting your privacy. This notice explains what we collect when you contact us, why we are allowed to use it, who else sees it and how long we keep it.
Who we are
The Broking Group Limited is the data controller for the information described here. We are a limited company registered in England and Wales, number 11800803, at Nantwich Court, Hospital Street, Nantwich CW5 5RH. We are an appointed representative of Insure Life Limited, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under FCA number 913606.
What we collect
When you use a form on this website we collect your name, your email address, and your phone number if you give it. Depending on the form we also collect the product you are interested in and any message you write. If you go on to become a client we will collect more, including employment details, the names and dates of birth of anyone you want covered, and information relevant to your insurance requirements.
When you send us an enquiry we also automatically record which page you arrived on and, where your browser makes it available, the website or search engine that sent you to us. This may include whether your visit came from a search engine, a social media platform or an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity. We use this only to understand how people find our website, and it is held for the length of your visit to the site rather than linked to your other data.
Why we are allowed to use it
For enquiries, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. For arranging and administering cover we rely on the performance of our contract with you, and on legal obligation where the law or our regulator requires us to keep records. Where we need to handle health information to arrange medical cover, we do so on the basis of your explicit consent, and we will always tell you when that applies.
How your enquiry reaches us
Forms on this website are handled by Formspree Inc, a form processing service acting as our processor under a data processing agreement. When you submit a form, your details pass through Formspree and are emailed to our office, and a copy is held in our Formspree account. Formspree processes data on servers in the United States, so your enquiry is transferred outside the UK under the safeguards set out in that agreement. If you would rather not use the form, you can call us on 01270 694939 or email info@thebrokinggroup.co.uk instead.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, provide quotations, arrange cover, administer policies, handle claims, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision making.
Who we share it with
We share your information with insurers and underwriters when we approach the market on your behalf, with Insure Life Limited as our regulatory principal, with Formspree as described above, and with regulators, auditors and professional advisers where we are required or permitted to do so. Everyone we share it with is bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not lead to a policy, we keep it for 24 months and then delete it. If you become a client, we keep your records for seven years after our relationship ends, which reflects the period during which a claim or complaint could still be brought. We may keep information for longer where the law requires it.
Cookies
This website uses essential cookies to work properly. The map on our contact page is embedded from Google, which may set its own cookies when that page loads. You can manage your choice using the cookie banner, and there is more detail on our cookies page.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@thebrokinggroup.co.uk or call 01270 694939. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
